Article  •  Publié sur Souria Houria le 2 février 2016
Syria should be ready for the day when Syrians could come together and rebuild a common life after the conflict comes to an end. And it will come to an end hopefully sooner rather than later.
The Tahdir programme prepares young Syrians for careers in government service, in public and private enterprise as well as in the non-for-profit sector. It provides executive academic training and delivers a degree recognized by a group of European universities and research institutions.
Tahdir will use a mix of physical classroom environment and web-based interactions with participants who cannot leave Syria.
Each trainee will have the chance to win seed funding to assist making their graduation projects a reality and the possibility to undertake study visits to Europe.
Curriculum:
Tahdir is offered in three fields (1) Local Administration, (2) Law and Security Sector Reform, and (3) Urban Planning for Sustainable Development.
Courses will be delivered in Arabic by professors from a range of renowned universities across the world and scholars from reputable international think tanks.
Each trainee will undertake 265 study hours (including 140 hours of guided independent study).
The study hours are divided among the main component of each training course and common courses that all trainees will undertake. The main component of each training course (either local administration; law and security sector reform; or urban planning for sustainable development) comprises 30 hours of lectures, assessments, guided independent study and a graduation project.
