Turkish, Britain-Based Charity Funds Send 169 Tons of Flour to Syria

Turkey’s IHH Humanitarian Aid Foundation and London-based charity fund Human Appeal have sent 169 tons of flour to internally displaced Syrians as part of the Turkey’s aid campaign « Bread&Blanket for Syria ».

IHH said Syrians faced severe shortage of bread in cities such as Aleppo, Idlib and Homs where it said pro-regime forces had targeted bakeries, adding that the 169-ton flour were to be distributed in those three cities.
« Bread&Blanket for Syria » campaign is supported by nearly 200 NGOs including Union of Civil Society Organizations of the Islamic World, Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association of Turkey (MUSIAD), Turkish Volunteer Institutions Foundation, Humanitarian Aid Foundation (IHH), Deniz Feneri Association, Cansuyu Aid Association, Yardimeli Association, Ensar Foundation, Verenel Association and Istanbul International Brotherhood and Assistance Association.
The online campaign — at websites www.suriyeicinbirekmek.com and www.breadforsyria.com in Turkish, English and Arabic — is aimed at extending humanitarian aid to Syrian refugees who face severe shortages of food and electricity as well as cold weather.
