Round-table lunch in French with Professor Ziad Majed from the American University in Paris. Author of a book on the popular, anti-Assad Syrian revolution published in both French and Arabic, Majed is a major voice in current debates around the many consequences of the conflicts in Syria radiating out from the Middle East. Prof. Majed is visiting Duke to participate in the conference, « Arab Refugee Crisis in the 21st Century » on January 28 and 29. More information about that conference can be found on the organizers’ website.

Ziad Majed

American University in Paris

Professor Ziad Majed is Assistant Professor of International and Comparative Politics at the American University of Paris.  His research interests include political transitions and reform in the Arab world, as well as civil society.  Dr. Majed is a contributor to the Arabic-language newspaper, Now Lebanon, as well as various French media outlets.
