Après trois ans et trois mois de souffrances du peuple syrien et à l’occasion de la visite dans la capitale française de Sa Béatitude Grégoire III Laham, patriarche d’Antioche et de tout l’Orient pour les Melkites,

Nous, chrétiens syriens, croyants dans l’enseignement de l’Eglise et plus particulièrement dans les passages suivants du Catéchisme de l’Eglise catholique :
– Le respect de la vie humaine (paragraphes 2259 à 2262)
– Le respect de la dignité humaine, tous les humains étant des fils de Dieu (de 1700 à 1715 et de 1929 à 1933)
– Le droit à la légitime défense, y compris en recourant au besoin à la défense armée (de 2263 à 2267)
– Le travail en faveur du bien commun (de 1905 à 1912)
– Sauvegarder la paix et éviter la guerre (de 2302 à 2317)

à partir de notre foi dans ces enseignements et de notre devoir patriotique, nous déclarons ce qui suit :
Nous refusons catégoriquement le meurtre de milliers d’êtres humains, nos frères en humanité et en appartenance à la patrie syrienne, révolutionnaires, soldats ou civils, au prétexte de notre défense et de notre survie en tant que minorité chrétienne.
Par notre révolution nous respectons et nous défendons la dignité humaine et nous exigeons la défense de la dignité de tout humain syrien, et non pas seulement des membres de la communauté chrétienne.
Nous sommes solidaires de toute personne qui défend sa vie et la vie de sa famille contre toutes les formes de meurtre, de menace ou de tyrannie.
Notre révolution syrienne est en faveur du bien de tous les citoyens syriens et de la patrie syrienne.
Nous refusons les tentatives du régime de transformer notre révolution syrienne en conflit sectaire.
C’est pourquoi nous nous adressons aujourd’hui à vous, Syrien et Patriarche catholique du siège d’Antioche et de tout l’Orient,

ainsi qu’à tous les ecclésiastiques syriens, et nous vous demandons :
de respecter les enseignements de l’Eglise et de vous engager dans le travail selon l’esprit de ces enseignements.
de servir tous les Syriens sans discrimination entre les chrétiens et leurs frères d’autres confessions, car nous sommes tous fils du Dieu unique.
de condamner tous les crimes commis contre le peuple syrien en général et contre les civils en particulier, que ce soit par le régime en place ou par d’autres groupes armés.
de travailler pour que la paix et le bien commun prévalent en Syrie et pour rassembler les Syriens autour du Bien et du Vrai, dans le respect de leurs particularités et de la diversité de leurs tendances et appartenances. Les chrétiens sont une partie du tout, et nous irons bien quand iront bien nos partenaires en patrie syrienne et en humanité.
de ne pas vous aligner sur un parti au détriment d’un autre et de vous souvenir que toute forme d’alignement porte préjudice à la vérité et à la conscience.
de jouer votre rôle comme Patriarche et comme clercs en étant des serviteurs des fils de Dieu selon Son Saint Esprit et selon l’enseignement de l’Eglise, par le travail et le témoignage en faveur de la vérité, du maintien de la paix et du rejet de la guerre, et non en fonction des passions et conflits de personnes ou de factions, si élevée que soit leur position.

بعد مرور ثلاث سنوات وثلاثة أشهر على معاناة الشعب السوري وبمناسبة زيارة غبطة البطريرك غريغوريوس الثالث لحام، بطريرك كرسي أنطاكية وسائر المشرق للروم الملكيين الكاثوليك للعاصمة الفرنسية
نحن السوريون المسيحيون المؤمنون بتعاليم الكنيسة

بشكل خاص حسب البنود التالية من تعاليم الكنيسة الكاثوليكية
– احترام الحياة الإنسانية (الفقرات 2258 حتى 2262)
– احترام الكرامة الإنسانية، كل البشر أبناء الله (1700 حتى 1715) و (1929 حتى 1933)
– حق الدفاع عن النفس ولو اضطر الأمر للجوء إلى الدفاع المسلح (2263 حتى 2267)
– العمل من اجل الخير العام (1905 حتى 1912)
– الحفاظ على السلام وتحاشي الحروب (2302 حتى 2317)
وانطلاقاً من إيماننا بهذه التعاليم وواجبنا الوطني والإنساني نعلن الآتي
رفضنا القاطع لقتل آلاف البشر من شركائنا بالإنسانية وفي الوطن من الثوار ومن المدنيين ومن الجيش بذريعة حمايتنا كأقلية مسيحية وبقائنا على قيد الحياة
بثورتنا نحترم وندافع عن كرامة الإنسان ونطالب بالدفاع عن كرامة جميع السوريين وليس فقط أبناء الطائفة المسيحية
نتضامن مع كل إنسان يدافع عن حياته وحياة أسرته ضد جميع أشكال القتل والتهديد والاستبداد
ثورتنا السورية ثورة من أجل خير المواطنين السوريين أجمعين ووطننا سوريا
نرفض محاولات النظام تحويل ثورتنا السورية إلى حرب طائفية

نتوجه أليكم اليوم كبطريرك سوري كاثوليكي لكرسي أنطاكية وسائر المشرق، كما نتوجه إلى جميع رجال الكنيسة السورية ونطالبكم بالتالي
– الالتزام بالعمل حسب روح التعاليم الكنسية واحترامها
– أن تخدموا السوريين جميعاً دون تمييز بين المسيحيين وأخوتهم من باقي الانتماءات. فنحن جميعا أبناء الله الواحد
– إدانة جميع الجرائم المرتكبة سواء من قبل النظام الحاكم أو باقي الجهات المسلحة بحق جميع السوريين، وخاصة المدنيين
– العمل من أجل أن يعمّ الخير والسلام في أرض سوريا وتوحيد السوريين على الخير والحق محترمين خصوصية وتعدد اتجاهاتهم وانتماءاتهم. فالمسيحيون جزء من كل، يكونون بخير عندما يكون شركائهم في الوطن وفي الإنسانية بخير
– عدم التحيّز لطرف تجاه آخر، آخذين بالاعتبار الأذى الناتج عن جميع أنواع التحيز لغير الحق والضمير
– ممارسة دوركم كبطريرك حيث أن رجالات الكنيسة هم خدمٌ لأبناء الله بحسب روحه القدوس والتعاليم الكنسية وذلك بعملكم وشهادتكم للحق وحفظ السلام وتفادي الحروب، وليس بحسب الأهواء والنزعات الفردية أو الفئوية لأي كان مهما كان شأنه

Dopo tre anni e tre mesi di sofferenza del popolo siriano e in occasione della visita nella capitale francese di Sua Beatitudine Gregorios III Laham, Patriarca di Antiochia e di tutto l’Oriente per i Greci cattolici,

Noi, siriani cristiani, credenti negli insegnamenti della Chiesa e in particolare nei seguenti passi del Catechismo della Chiesa cattolica:
– il rispetto della vita umana (punti 2259-2262 del Catechismo della Chiesa Cattolica)
– la dignità della persona umana, perché tutti gli uomini sono figli di Dio (1700-1715 e 1929-1933)
– la legittima difesa, anche se necessario per mezzo della difesa armata (2263-2267)
– il lavoro per il bene comune (1905-1912)
– la difesa della pace e l’evitare la guerra (2302-2317)

Sulla base della nostra fede nell’insegnamento della Chiesa e del nostro dovere patriottico, dichiariamo:
Noi rifiutiamo totalmente l’uccisione di migliaia di esseri umani, nostri fratelli in umanità e in appartenenza alla patria siriana, rivoluzionari, soldati o civili, con il pretesto di proteggere e far sopravvivere la minoranza cristiana.
Attraverso la nostra rivoluzione, noi rispettiamo e difendiamo la dignità umana e richiediamo la difesa della dignità di ogni essere umano siriano, e non solo dei membri della comunità cristiana.
Esprimiamo la nostra solidarietà con ogni persona che difende la sua vita e quella della sua famiglia contro tutte le forme di omicidio, di minaccia o di tirannia.
La nostra rivoluzione siriana è per il bene di tutti i cittadini siriani e della patria siriana.
Rifiutiamo i tentativi del regime di trasformare la nostra rivoluzione siriana in una guerra settaria.
Ecco perché ci rivolgiamo oggi a Lei come Siriano e Patriarca cattolico della sede di Antiochia e di tutto l’Oriente, e a tutto il clero della Siria, chiedendovi:
– Rispettate gli insegnamenti della Chiesa e lavorate secondo lo spirito di questi insegnamenti.
– Servite tutti i Siriani senza discriminazione tra i cristiani e i loro fratelli di altre appartenenze (perché siamo tutti figlio di un Dio unico).
– Condannate tutti i crimini commessi contro il popolo siriano in generale, e contro i civili in particolare, sia da parte del regime al potere che di altri gruppi armati.
– Lavorate per la pace e il bene comune in Siria, e per riunire i Siriani attorno al Bene e alla Verità, nel rispetto delle loro specificità e della diversità delle loro attitudini e appartenenze. I cristiani sono una parte del tutto, e staremo bene quando i nostri fratelli in patria siriana e in umanità staranno bene.
– Non schieratevi con un partito a scapito di un altro e ricordatevi che ogni forma di allineamento danneggia la verità e la coscienza.
– Svolgete il vostro ruolo di Patriarca e di clero, come servitori dei figli di Dio, secondo il Suo Santo Spirito e gli insegnamenti della Chiesa, attraverso il lavoro e la testimonianza a favore della verità, del mantenimento della pace e del rifiuto della guerra, e non sulla base di passioni o conflitti fra persone o fazioni, per quanto alta sia la loro posizione.

After three years and three months of suffering of the Syrian people and on the occasion of the visit to the French capital of His Beatitude Gregoire III Laham, Patriarch of Antioch and all the East for the Greek Catholics,

We, Syrian Christians, believing in the teachings of the Church and especially the following passages of the Catechism of the Catholic Church:
– The respect for human life (paragraphs 2259-2262)
– The respect for human dignity, because all human beings are children of God (from 1700 to 1715 and from 1929 to 1933)
– The right to self-defense, including armed defense when necessary (from 2263 to 2267)
– The work for the common good (1905 to 1912)
– Peace and prevent war (2302-2317)

on the basis of our faith in the teachings of the Church and of our patriotic duty, we declare the following:
We reject absolutely the killing of thousands of human beings, our brothers and sisters in humanity and our fellow citizens, revolutionaries, soldiers or civilians, at the pretext of our protection and survival as a Christian minority.
By our revolution, we respect and defend human dignity and demand the defense of the dignity of every Syrian human being, not only that of the members of the Christian community.
We stand by every person who defends his life and his family’s life against all forms of murder, threat or tyranny.
Our Syrian revolution is for the sake of all Syrian citizens and the Syrian homeland.
We refuse the attempts by the regime to transform our Syrian revolution into a sectarian war.
This is why we turn to you today, you a Syrian and Catholic Patriarch of the See of Antioch and all the East, and to all the Syrian church leaders, demanding the following :
– respect the teachings of the Church and commit to work in the spirit of these teachings.
– serve all the Syrians without discrimination between the Christians and their brothers of other faith communities (because we are all children of the one God).
– condemn all crimes committed against the Syrian people in general and against civilians in particular, whether by the regime or by other armed groups.
– work for peace and the common good in Syria and to gather all Syrians around Good and Truth, respecting their particularities and the diversity of their tendencies and belongings. Christians are a part of the whole, and we will go well when our fellow citizens and partners in humanity will go well.
– do not to align with one party at the expense of another and remember that any form of alignment harms truth and conscience.
– play your role as Patriarch and church leaders, being servants of the sons of God according to His Holy Spirit and to the teachings of the Church, through the work and testimony in favor of truth, of maintaining peace and of preventing war, and not on the basis of passions or conflicts of persons or factions, however high they may rank.

Nach drei Jahren und drei Monaten des Leidens der Syrischen Bevölkerung und anlässlich des Besuches Seiner Seligkeit Gregoire III Laham, Patriarch von Antiochien und dem ganzen Orient der griechisch-katholischen Kirche, in der französischen Hauptstadt,

als syrische Christen, die wir den Lehren der Kirche glauben, insbesondere den folgenden Abschnitten des Katechismus der Katolischen Kirche :
– Achtung vor dem menschlichen Leben (Paragraph 2259 bis 2262)
– Die Würde des Menschen, denn jedes menschliche Wesen ist Sohn Gottes (1700 bis 1715 und 1929 bis 1933)
– Das Recht auf Notwehr, inklusive bewaffnete Verteidigung, wenn nötig (2263 bis 2267)
– Das Gemeinwohl, Einsatz für das Gemeinwohl (1905 bis 1912)
– Aufrechterhaltung des Friedens (2302 bis 2317)

erklären wir auf der Grundlage unseres Glaubens in die Lehren der Katholischen Kirche und auf der Grundlage unserer patriotischen Pflicht, folgendes:
Wir lehnen das Töten von tausenden von Menschen, unserer Brüder in der Menschheit und in der Zugehörigkeit zu unserer syrischen Heimat, ab.
Wir lehnen die Benutzung des Vorwandes unserer Verteidigung als Christliche Minderheit ab.
Wir verweigern, dass tausende unserer Brüder, Revolutionäre, Soldaten oder Zivilisten getötet werden, als vermeintlicher Preis für unser Überleben als Gemeinschaft.
Mit unserer Revolution achten und verteidigen wir die menschliche Würde, und fordern die Verteidigung der Würde jedes syrischen Menschen, nicht nur die, der Mitglieder der christlichen Gemeinschaft.
Wir stehen zu jedem Mann, der sein Leben und das seiner Familie gegen jegliche Form von Mord, Bedrohung und Tyrannei verteidigt.
Unsere syrische Revolution geschieht um aller syrischen Bürger und um unserer syrischen Heimat willen.
Wir lehnen die Versuche des Regimes unsere syrische Revolution zu sektiererischen Krieg zu verwandeln, ab.
Deshalb bitten wir Sie, als ein Syrischer und Katholischer Patriarch von Antiochien und dem ganzen Orient, und ebenso bitten wir alle syrischen Geistlichen, die Lehren der Kirche zu achten, und sich zu verpflichten im Geist dieser Lehren zu arbeiten.
Wir bitten Sie den Menschen zu dienen, ohne Unterscheidung zwischen Syrischen Christen und deren Syrischen Brüdern anderer Zugehörigkeiten ( denn wir sind alle Söhne des einen Gottes).
Wir bitten Sie, alle Verbrechen, die gegen das Syrische Volk im allgemeinen, und gegen die Zivilbevölkerung im besonderen, begangen werden, zu verurteilen, ob durch das Regime oder andere bewaffnete Gruppen.
Wir bitten Sie für das Gemeinwohl der Syrischen Bevölkerung zu arbeiten und alle Syrer um Gutes und Wahrheit herum zu versammeln, indem Sie ihre Besonderheiten und Vielfalt der Strebungen und Zugehörigkeiten würdigen. Christen sind Teil des Ganzen, und es wird uns gut gehen, wenn es unseren Mitbürgern und Partnern in der Menschheit gut geht.
Wir bitten Sie, sich nicht einer Partei anzuschließen auf Kosten einer anderen und zu beherzigen, dass jegliche Form von Anpassung Wahrheit und Gewissen verletzten.
Wir bitten Sie alle, Patriarch und Kirchenmänner, Ihre Rolle als Diener der Söhne Gottes, gemäß Seines Heiligen Geistes und der Lehren der Kirche, zu spielen, durch die Arbeit und das Zeugnis zu Gunsten der Wahrheit, der Bewahrung von Frieden und Verhinderung von Krieg, und nicht auf der Grundlage von Meinungen oder Vorlieben von Personen oder Gruppierungen, so hochrangig sie auch sein mögen.
