Cypriot students’ amazing art project “Immigrants”, selected by the Saatchi Gallery in London

This is so touching news. An art teacher in Limassol together with her students, have created an amazing project that revolves around the refugee drama, the crisis of values that we all experience nowadays and the desire of these people to stay alive!. and the desire to sail.
The project included 30 children of St. Luke School at Colossi, Limassol – 8 of which are the leaders of the team -, aged 16-18 years, with the help of course of their teacher, Popi Nicholas who is a painter.
As said by the teacher “the boat that the students used, belonged to the Colossi council and was about to be thrown away”.
The project “Immigrants” was created in the context of the 5th Pancyprian Competition of Visual Arts of Secondary General Education, which had the following theme “Crisis – Challenge”.
The project has been selected by the Saatchi Gallery in London among 20 finalists (from a list of 22,000 projects) who will also expose their projects at the British metropolis between the 3rd– 9th of March. On the 3th, there will also be a nomination of the 3 first prizes for the «2016 Saatchi Gallery / Deutsche Bank Art Prize».
Well done to the Cypriot youngsters. We are so proud of you!
