Genéve : Participate in our photography exhibition!
Du 15 janvier Au 17 avril 2016
“Wake Up Genève” will organize, in collaboration with the initiative “Message to Syria”, from March 15 until April 17, 2016 an outdoor large scale photography exhibition in one of the most central squares of Geneva, Plainpalais. This exhibition entitled “Syria: the orphan revolution” will comprise 24 images of size 185×125 cm each accompanied by a short explanatory text. We chose the theme “Syria: an orphan revolution” because of the failure of the international community to uphold the fundamental rights of Syrian people and to protect their lives.
The main objective of the exhibition is to show the story of the Syrian revolution through the eyes of Syrian people themselves. Syrian people have not been given much voice in Western countries on what the revolution means to them and how it affected their lives. Therefore, we propose you, as Syrians, to use this space to tell us your story of the revolution. All voices will be heard and taken into account. The exhibition will be launched on March 15, 2016 by the former mayor of Geneva and current head of the city department of culture. Depending on the amount and quality of photographs and texts received, this initiative might lead to the publication of a book.
