Les Chebabs de Yarmouk / The Shebabs of Yarmouk
J’essaye depuis quelques minutes de vous annoncer une grande nouvelle.
Mais je ne sais pas comment m’y prendre. Un sentiment amer se confond dans la joie qui m’anime.
Alors que mon film « Les Chebabs de Yarmouk » est sélectionné en compétition internationale long-métrage au festival Visions du réel à Nyon en Suisse ainsi que au Hotdocs à Toronto au Canada, Ala’a, Hassan, Samer, Tasneem et Waed, les personnages du film vivent dans un état de guerre permanent.
Le camp de Yarmouk, le lieu du film, en Syrie, vient une nouvelle fois de se faire bombarder.

Ten minutes that I’m in front of this mail.
I’m trying to announce you a great new.
But I’m a bit confused. A bitter feeling is mixing with my joy.
Whereas my film « The Shebabs of Yarmouk » is selected in competition international feature film to the festival of Visions du Reel in Nyon, Switzerland and to the Hotdocs in Toronto, Canada, Alaa Hassan, Samer, Tasneem and Waed, the film’s characters are living in a permanent state of war.
Yarmouk camp, the location of the film is once again being bombed.
